They started trading in 1924, and are an investment holding company operating in the retail and financial services segments. The Foschini Group’s interest in financial services is vested in two areas:

• FG Financial Services – provides credit and related services to customers of the Group; and
• RCS Group – provides personal loans and other financial services to customers of the Group as well as credit facilities to  retailers external to The Foschini Group

Financial services FG is a subsidiary of the Foschini Group and is the preferred provider of Credit and Financial Services to retailers and consumers in South Africa.

They manage  the group’s in-store credit card programme that consists of 14 different card formats. Their responsibilities extend to the group’s Club, insurance products and the cellular phone operations.

Their RCS Group provides a range of broader financial services to customers of the group as well as to customers of retailers outside the group – RCS Personal Loans, RCS Cards, RCS Private Label Cards and RCS Home Loans.
